Woodcote wins Surrey Club Team Challenge 2010

For the second time in it's history Woodcote has won the Surrey Club Team Challenge.   The competition has been run by the Surrey PGA since 1996 and the Club won it back in 2006 when Kevin Evans was Captain.

This year the event was at Surbiton Golf Club and as usual the team is formed of the Club Captain, Vice Captain, Head Professional and Club Secretary.

They managed an excellent 12 under par in the usual Pro-Am format of best 2 from 4 strokeplay to win on countback from the host club team. Birdies were plentiful and The Captain topped it all with a stunning net eagle on the par 5 14th to move them up the leaderboard.

Doug Bell Chair of Greens and Vice Captain, his brother Club Captain Ian Bell
and Adrian Dawson Club Secretary.

The result means that the Club will now host the event here at Woodcote in 2012 - its Centenary Year.
A fitting reward for a strong team performance.
