The Final proved to be the closest match of the weekend with the match all square after 18 holes. The first hole of the play-off was halved but when Woodcote Park drove their tee shot into a ditch on the 2nd Wentworth A were able to take their chance and close out the match. |
In presenting the prizes David Basham, SCGU Past President and EGU Board Member, thanked Merrist Wood for their hospitality and generosity in allowing us to play the course over the three days and congratulated them on the outstanding condition of the course, including the clear outlining of all of the water hazards, of which there are many. In accepting the Championship Trophy and also the award for leading qualifiers Craig Cameron endorsed David’s comments about the excellent condition of the course and also congratulated Frankie Boylan and Jack Kenny for such an exciting final.
